Things You Never Want to Hear...
"OK, nobody use the bathroom. We've got a flood in the basement."
I know what you're thinking... and it wasn't me. There had been rain. Lots of rain. And the foot of snow that had been on the ground all melted within a 24 hour period.
Everything was backed up at that point... Even me.
We were at my in-laws. I had been watching the Little Guy all day. I was waiting to use the bathroom until my wife got back from shopping. And now, no one was allowed to flush. What the hell?
OK... I'm going out. Anybody want anything from Starbucks?

Fatherhood Report
This video is about three weeks old at this point. It's the first images of Little Man walking.
Little Man takes about 8 - 10 steps on his own.
It's the most awesome, scary, joyous, exciting thing ever.
He even claps for himself at the end.

No Pants Nap
We try to keep Little Man on a pretty regular schedule. It helps.
But sometimes, he just doesn't want to lie down and take a nap. He'll cry and start throwing things out of his crib. Books... toys... whatever he's got in there with him.
I was watching him one Saturday afternoon. When it was time for his nap, I lied down myself and took a nap in the room with him. I figured that way he wouldn't feel like his was missing anything.
I had my back turned to him. He fussed a bit, and I could hear a few toys hitting the floor, but eventually he fell asleep.
After a nice nap, I wake up and look over at him.
And the boy ain't got no pants on.
Now, when I put him down, he definitely had pants on. But at some point, he must have taken them off himself.
And thrown them at me.

Just Thank Me Later
When it doesn't snow again in RI this year, it will be because I finally broke down and bought a snow blower.
It snowed 8 - 10 inches right before we left for Buffalo. Then we got another 6 inches right when we got back. And of course, it snowed while we were in Buffalo. I can't handle shoveling any more. I'm getting too old for that crap.
I bought the 26 inch machine. It didn't look that big at the store because it was next to much larger commercial grade equipment. But now that I've got it home and it's in the garage, it looks huge.
If it does ever snow again, I'm available to hire for cleaning out your driveway.
