Raise your hand: Who wishes they bought a hybrid?

No, it's a conspiracy.

Even at today's gas prices (which are totally unjustified) the premium for a hybrid, around $8500, still makes it the more expensive option.

Ask your congressman this: How is it that the same gas that was in the tanks at the station suddenly got more expensive in one day? The unit cost to the station has not changed, and the lack of refining capacity shouldn't been seen in the price for 6 to 8 weeks. The gas we're filling our tanks with today was refined a weeks (months?) ago.

It's a damn conspiracy.

(Sorry for ranting on your blog.)

I agree with Joel but in the long rin I think the hybrid will minimize some pain once the premium has been worked off

I've touched a nerve here... Excellent.

The hybrid makes a lot more sense when you factor in the tax credit.

There's also sense of, you know, not making the world a worse place.

A radio station around here gave away some sort of huge SUV this morning and the winner also got $1,000 worth of gas. That'll probably get them back home.
